Athletic Bilbao 3-1 win over Roma in the Europa League on Thursday helped Spain edge closer to securing a five-team Champions League spot next season.

Spain have edged closer to a five-team Champions League’s spot after overtaking Italy in the rankings to move into second behind England.

Italy and Germany were the first two countries to secure a five-team slot in last season’s Champions League, but now England and Spain have a chance to snatch the five-team slot from the first two countries after finishing คาสิโนออนไลน์ UFABET ฝากถอนรวดเร็ว เริ่มต้นเล่นง่าย first and second in the rankings.

England, with a coefficient score of 24.250, has five clubs through the last eight, namely Arsenal and Aston Villa, two teams in the Champions League, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, two teams in the Europa League, and Chelsea in the Conference League.

While Spain has accumulate 21.678 coefficient points, there are 4 clubs left in the European stage: Barcelona and Real Madrid in the Champions League, Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League and Real Betis in the Conference League.

Italy dropped to third place with a coefficient of 19.937, leaving three teams in Europe: Inter Milan in the Champions League, Lazio in the Europa League and Fiorentina in the Conference League.

Germany is rank 4th with a coefficient of 17.921, leaving 3 clubs in the European stage as well. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.

It certainly increases the motivation for the chasing pack, with just four points separating seventh from 14th in La Liga. If Spain does secure the fifth spot, and if any of the big three win the Copa del Rey rather than Real Sociedad, eighth spot will be good enough for European football, which would include Betis, RCD Mallorca and Rayo Vallecano as it stands.
