Neymar has had to postpone his return to the Brazil national team after an injury forced him to withdraw from the Samba squad.

Brazil coach Dorival Junior has called up Real Madrid youngster Endrick Felipe to replace Neymar da Silva Jr. after the 33-year-old Santos forward withdrew from the Brazil squad due to injury, ESPN reported on Saturday.

‘The comeback seems imminent, but unfortunately I will not be able to wear the most important shirt in the world for now,’ Neymar posted on Instagram. 

‘We had a long talk and everyone knew I wanted to come back, but we agreed not to take any risks and to prepare as best we can to fully recover from the injury.’

In addition, Dorival Junior has also called up goalkeeper Lucas Perri from Lyon and defender Alex Sandro from Flamengo to replace Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson and Flamengo’s Danilo da Silva.

Endrick, 18, has made 28 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions this season, scoring six goals.

He has made 13 senior appearances for Brazil and scored three goals.
